What we fix

Appliance leaking in Hove? Here’s what we do.

Most appliance leaks are in the plumbing behind the machine, not the machine itself. We test the hoses, valves and waste first, and tell you straight if the fault is inside the appliance.

  • Perished fill hoses and loose connections replaced
  • Waste pipes, traps and standpipes remade
  • Scaled or leaking isolating valves renewed
  • Water and waste to commercial dishwashers and glasswashers repaired
  • Floors and kitchen units checked for hidden water

Appliance leaks in Hove kitchens

Kitchens in Hove flats are often small, with the washing machine squeezed under a worktop and its waste sharing a trap with the sink. When the sink trap blocks, the machine’s waste water has nowhere to go and comes back out under the units. We clear the trap and, where there is room, give the machine its own waste so the two cannot back up into each other.

If you live above someone, a leak from your washing machine is soon their ceiling. Laminate and vinyl floors hide water until it has spread. If you find a puddle, switch the machine off at the socket, close the valve behind it, and tell your downstairs neighbour.

Hard water scales up the small isolating valves that feed washing machines and dishwashers. Turn one after years of no use and it can start leaking from the spindle. We replace these with new valves that will close when you need them to.

Church Road, George Street and Portland Road are lined with cafés, bars, hairdressers and salons that rely on dishwashers, glasswashers and washing machines. A leak during service can close you for the day. We can come outside opening hours and keep the work out of your customers’ way.

Questions

Appliance leak in Hove? Common questions

Usually the waste side. The standpipe or the trap it drains into is blocked or set too low. We clear it and set the waste up so the water cannot back up.
